Mocha Overnight Oatmeal

Now this is the best breakfast combo right? This makes for the best breakfast for anyone on the go. It will fulfill your craving for coffee and fill up you with nutritious food. Mocha Overnight Oats are super easy and super yummy!

The best way to make this recipe is to use the best quality coffee you can get. This oatmeal completely rides on the flavor of coffee. If you don’t like coffee, you can replace it with more milk. Just know that you will not have mocha overnight oats anymore. 🙂

No one in my family drinks coffee, so all I could get was some instant granules. To be honest, my family can’t really tell the difference because, again, we don’t really drink coffee. But, if you are a coffee connoisseur 🙂 then make sure to get the coffee that will please you!

If you are busy person, or just not a morning person, that is no excuse to skip breakfast. Breakfast is so important. It doesn’t matter if you have a sitting job or not, getting the adequate amount of fuel from a long “fasting period” (sleeping) is imperative for your body. If you are not used to eating breakfast in the morning, I would recommend starting small and working your way up. With more energy, you can perform better mentally and physically. Eating food is what allows you to exercise and get “fitter”.

Anyway, that’s just a little rant about nutrition. This summer, I will be starting a new section on my blog about nutrition. I really am passionate about this topic, so hopefully you guys will like the occasional break from recipes.

Mocha Overnight Oatmeal

This recipe is super easy to make and can fuel you through the day like no other breakfast! 

Vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, and oil-free.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup non dairy milk 1
  • 1/4 cup strong coffee 2
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tbsp pure maple syrup 3
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a bowl or mug and mix together. Place in the fridge overnight and enjoy in the morning!

Recipe Notes

  1. Any non dairy milk will work here: almond, soy, cashew, coconut, rice, hemp, etc.
  2. I just used instant coffee in 1/4 cup of water. Feel free to brew your own.
  3. Any sweetener will work here: cane sugar, coconut sugar, agave, etc.
