One-ingredient Applesauce

Okay, this one is must have for any household. This one-ingredient applesauce is a great snack, breakfast, and baking ingredient. You have got to know how to make it!

Unfortunately store-bought applesauce is quite expensive. I mean, when the one ingredient required, why go and buy it? Homemade is healthier, tastier, and cheaper.

I mean, can you even tell the difference? The taste might be slightly different, but when you are given the choice to control what is truly going in your food and the sugar content, why not take the chance!?

Okay, enough blabbering right? I make a lot of recipes that use applesauce.

One-ingredient Applesauce

This is always in my pantry. This is a great to use up overripe apples or just any time you want some applesauce!

Vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, and oil-free.

Ingredients

  • as many apples as you want 1
  • enough water to appear 1 centimeter from the bottom of the pot

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice any type of apple as you want.
  2. Place in a pot and cover the bottom of the pot up to 1 centimeter in water.
  3. Cook for 20 minutes or until fork tender. Make sure to periodically check that the pot doesn't dry out.
  4. Let the apples cool slightly before blending. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

  1. Any type of apple will work. I recommend riper ones though because there is no added sugar in this recipe.
